Information on Broadband Penetration and Societal Impact

  • GCF Learn Free offers free online curricula developed through Goodwill Industries of NE North Carolina. In addition to offering interactive courses on computers, the internet, productivity applications and safety, they offer tutorials on "everyday life" math, money basics and career development.

  • Microsoft's Unlimited Potential Curriculum and Services are designed for use in community technology centers (CTCs) or Telecenters. Lessons may be taught in a classroom-style setting, or as part of a self-paced learning program. The Unlimited Potential program also includes a partnership with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America which offers Club Tech - a very cool customized version of the curriculum for kids.

Internet Safety

  • Wired Safety supports children and adults with software, tips and support on cyberabuse (online fraud, cyberbullying, and child safety).

  • Stay Safe Online "provides free and non-technical cyber security and safety resources to the public, so consumers, small businesses and educators have the know how to avoid cyber crime."

  • CTCNet supports Community Technology Centers around the nation with a range of resources and services.
